Grocerton is a small seaside town on the western side of the continent of Yolk. The White Sea borders it on the south and west, while directly to the north there's the Whitwood Forest and a road leading east to Market City. There are several other towns and cities in Yolk, such as Farmer's Meet, Chowder, Cornfield, and Botanopolis. The planet, Egrth, has four more major continents:

• the tropical Pina
• the icy Neopoltia
• the desert-filled Sanara
• and the jungle-covered Vinas.

The inhabitants of Egrth are made up of two major species- groceries and the Strange. Groceries are your normal, average people, for the most part, whereas the Strange are the sapient mythical beings, whether they're talking animals, megafauna, spirits or something else. They usually keep to themselves, though thousands of years ago they could be found mingling freely among the groceries. Over time as civilization got more advanced, they began to withdraw from the public, eventually fading into myth and legend. However, several traits remain in the groceries of the present, such as animalistic features, tendencies toward magic, or even special abilities- for example, Kittybean's ears and tail, or Devilegg's fire immunity.
